Individual Sessions
Lydia’s first hope is to put you at ease so that you feel comfortable sharing freely about what you’ve been experiencing. An individual session will often feel like a casual, exploratory conversation.
Depending on what you’d like to work on and what opportunities Lydia sees for growth, she may suggest certain types of therapy, mindfulness, body-based and other exercises during each session.
Lydia works with adults as well as children and adolescents.
Sessions will be collaborative and more or less directive, depending on what you prefer and need at the time. Though she has completed years of graduate school, several additional trainings, and holds 10+ years of post-graduate experience, Lydia approaches every client with curiosity and humility as opposed to a sense of expertise. This is intentional and rooted in the awareness that each person is the expert in their own life and experience.
The relationship with your therapist is, in itself, an important aspect of your healing. Lydia aims to build a relationship with you that is safe, secure, caring, reliable, attuned and transparent.
Over time, you will discover together where the pain points lie, what internal beliefs you hold, what past experiences may still be affecting you today, how your body is holding these experiences, and how to shift.
